Creating a La Latina account

To join La Latina community, go to the left top of the « create an account » page, on La Latina logo. Chose a username and a password then enter your personnal information. Click on the "Submit" button to finish.


Verification code not accepted

When you register to La Latina, if you're unable to input the correct verification code, it might be because you're reading it incorrectly. Click the "Can't read verification code?" link below the image until you receive an image that is clear enough for you to read. If you still can't read it, please ask someone to help you.

The verification code expires after 2 minutes and you will need to finish your sign-up process within that time or you will keep getting a verification code error message. If you receive this message, try again after clearing your cache and cookies.


Confirming e-mail address

Confirm your e-mail address to validate your new account settings.

The validation link you need to confirm your e-mail address is provided in the welcome e-mail you will recieve once you have created your account. The confirmation of your e-mail address is required for any action on La Latina, such as posting videos, commentaries, consulting your e-mails, on-line shopping….

To confirm your e-mail address, proceed as follows:

1. Once your username is created on the create my account page, you will recieve a confirmation e-mail.
2. Click on the  E-mail address confirmation link provided in the message (You can also copy and paste the link in your web browser).
3. That's all! You will then be redirected to a confirmation page and discover the website.

If you don't get the confirmation e-mail once you have register, please check your spam folder. Some spam filters are more agressive than others. If you still haven't recieved after several hours, please try to confirm your e-mail address using another e-mail address.

Click on the language link on the right top corner of each page to select a language.


Information about my account activity

Just click on the "My account" link on the right top of each to go to your account page. It is more convenient to gathered all your information on the same page: you can quicckly access your account history.


Account information security

La Latina take every measure necessary to protect your information from any unauthorized access.

• Remember to keep your password in a safe place. NEVER give it to anyone. Please note that La Latina will never ask you to reveal your password.

Personnal information

• Browsing on La Latina - You can watch videos on La Latina without having a La Latina account. You also can contact us through the La Latina help center or by emailing us directly without having to register for an account.
• Your La Latina account - For some activities on La Latina, like uploading videos, posting comments, flagging videos, or watching restricted videos, you need a La Latina account. We ask for some personal information when you create an account, including your email address and a password, which is used to protect your account from unauthorized access. A La Latina account, additionally, allows you to access other services that require registration.
• Usage Information - When you use La Latina, we may record information about your usage of the site, such as the channels, groups and favorites you subscribe to, which other users you communicate with, the videos you watch, the frequency and size of data transfers, and information you display about yourself, etc. If you are logged in, we may associate that information with your La Latina account. In order to ensure the quality of our service to you, we may place a tag (also called a "web beacon") in HTML-based customer support emails or other communications with you in order to confirm delivery.
• Content Uploaded to Site - Any video content or personal information that you voluntarily disclose online (e.g., video comments, your profile page) may be collected and used by others. If you download the La Latina Uploader program, your copy includes a unique application number. This number, and information about your installation of the Uploader (version number, language) will be sent to La Latina when the Uploader automatically checks for updates and will be used to update your version of the Uploader.

Uses

• If you submit personal information to La Latina, we may use that information to operate, maintain, and improve the features and functionality of La Latina and to process any flagging activity or other communication you send to us.
• We do not use your email address or other personal information to send commercial or marketing messages without your consent. We may use your email address without further consent for non-marketing or administrative purposes (such as notifying you of major La Latina changes or for customer service purposes). We use cookies, web beacons, and log file information to: (a) store information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit La Latina; (b) provide custom, personalized content and information; (c) monitor the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns; (d) monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors and pages viewed; and (e) track your entries, submissions, and status in promotions, sweepstakes, and contests.

Information that is publicly available

• When you create a La Latina account, some information about your La Latina account and your account activity will be provided to other users of La Latina. This may include the date you opened your La Latina account, the date you last logged into your La Latina account, your age, the country and the number of videos you have watched.
• Your La Latina account name, not your email address, is displayed to other users when you engage in certain activities on La Latina, such as when you upload videos or send messages through La Latina. Other users can contact you by leaving a message or comment on the site.
• Any videos that you submit to La Latina may be redistributed through the internet and other media channels, and may be viewed by other La Latina users or the general public.
• You may also choose to add personal information which may include your name, gender, profile picture or other details, that will be visible to other users on your La Latina account channel page. If you choose to add certain features to your La Latina account channel page, then these features and your activity associated with these features will be displayed to other users and may be aggregated and shared with your friends or other users. Such shared activity may include your favorite videos, videos you rated and videos that you have uploaded.

Your choices

• When you have an account on La Latina, you may update or correct your personal profile information, email preferences and privacy settings at any time by visiting your account profile page.
• Other users can see that you as identified by  your username (but not your e-mail address) are watching the same video.
• Some advanced  La Latina features may use other services. The privacy notices of those services govern the use of your personal information associated with them.

Please enter a valid e-mail address

When you share a video or any other product with your friends by clicking the "recommend this video to a friend" link or sending the product description to a friend, you can either:

• enter the email addresses directly in the "To:" field, or
• choose the usernames from your contact list next to that box.

If you type a username in the "To" field when trying to share your video, you'll see an error message.
